Nashville

* This is a repost from December of 2014
It was mine and Adam's yearly Christmas shopping trip to Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, Tennessee. It is just 3 hours from where we live, straight shot up I - 65 North. We left early Sunday morning around 9 so we could get there around noon for lunch, we had to have our energy for the hours of shopping that was about to take place.

We stopped at a little place called Hattie B's downtown Nashville. You've probably heard of it, it's well known for it's Tennessee Hot Chicken.Yeah, I said it, "HOT" Chicken. Of course, I had to have the regular Southern fried chicken, because I'm a wimp. Ha Ha. Adam had what is known as "Shut the Cluck up," which is the hottest chicken they have. Adam can take it because he's a man! He can have anything that is hot as lava on the surface of the sun. Judging by the dark color of the chicken, you can tell it is hot. I had to have my phone on hand so I could capture this momentous moment in case if the chicken fazed him. Turns out, it never fazed him, not one bit! There were a couple of beads of sweat on his forehead, but he kept a cool look. That is a Man! What was funny, the waitress kept asking if he needed a glass of milk to go with it incase if it got to him, but it never did.

After that fulfilling lunch, we trucked on to the mall to do our annual Christmas shopping. When we got there, Of course, Adam had to stop at a store called Pepper Palace. It is a little store that has hot sauces, BBQ sauces, salsas, jellies, and jams. That is one of his favorite places in the mall, because well, you guessed it, he loves anything hot. Of course, he had to make a couple of purchases, he bought  some habanero mango hot sauce and a 5 pepper salsa that you mix in with some cream cheese that is just divine. Would be great for up coming holiday parties and Super Bowl Sunday.

After spending 2 hours of shopping and spending $100's of impulsive buys, Ha, we left for the drive back home to good ole J-town. Of course, there were a couple of accidents coming back on I-65, it is the holiday season already! When we finally got back, we had the most delicious, most tender pot roast that had been in the crock pot all day. With potatoes, onions, carrots, and a nice glass of cabernet sauvignon, it was the best meal that day by far. Sorry Hattie B's, but there's nothing like a home cooked meal.
